The story behind this piece
Every bamboo pendant lamp is made by hand by Kotwalia Bamboo Cluster, with no middleman standing between the maker and you.
Bamboo cut in the waning moon, worked by hand, finished with oil and beeswax rather than varnish.
Before this enterprise existed, the raw material behind this product left the village for a fraction of what you are paying — and the value addition happened somewhere else. That is the single thing this collection changes.
You are not making a donation. You are paying a fair market price to a producer who finally gets to set it.
How it's made
- 1Raw material collected or grown locally, in season.
- 2Processed or shaped entirely by hand in the village unit.
- 3Batch-checked by the SHG's own quality lead.
- 4Packed with a traceable batch number and no plastic filler.
What your purchase changes
- • Your purchase pays fair wages directly to Kotwalia Bamboo Cluster.
- • A share funds equipment for the cluster — drying racks, tools, packing machines.
- • Anudaan takes 0% platform fee on every marketplace order.
